The third film in the series is a prequel that explains how psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) got involved in this big mess to begin with. In this case, she gets involved with a teen (Stefanie Scott) who accidentally summons all kinds of dead folks when she’s just trying to communicate with her dead mom. Jeez! Dermot Mulroney co-stars as the concerned dad, alongside writer/director Leigh Whannell and Angus Sampson as paranormal hunters.
Whannell, who wrote the screenplay as well as the first “Insidious” and the first three “Saw” movies, is making his directorial debut with this creep show. Continue reading
When we last saw Sonny Kapoor (Dev Patel) who, in spite of the objections of his meddling mother (Lillete Dubey), he had proposed to his girlfriend Sunaina (Tina Desai). The ambitious young entrepreneur had also managed to raise enough money to renovate the ramshackle hotel with the help of Muriel Donnelly (Maggie Smith), one of the residents of the retirement community. 
Sex sells. Movie producers and marketers have known this since the earliest days of silent films. But mainstream pictures tend to steer clear of kinky sex; films like Last Tango in Paris and Nine ½ Weeks made headlines but didn’t play to mass audiences here in the U.S. The canny people behind the adaptation of E.L. James runaway best-seller Fifty Shades of Grey have made all the right moves, not pushing the envelope beyond an R rating and couching its s&m quotient within the confines of a somewhat conventional romantic drama. Whether or not this will please the readers of James’ writing I cannot say, but it works surprisingly well as a movie. 
“Run All Night” stars Liam Neeson as a hitman who is forced to protect his son from his boss played by Ed Harris, this happening after his son, played by Joel Kinnaman, ends up being the one that’s almost in a way responsible for the death of Ed Harris’s son. It’s ultimately Liam Neeson choosing family over friendship and it makes for a movie that’s different from how the trailers made it look. Like another Liam Neeson movie, “A Walk Among the Tombstones”, it’s actually a kind of quiet and even suspenseful movie that’s entertaining to watch.

It has inspired multiple written versions, stage adaptations and films, but the latest retelling comes from Disney, which feels all too fitting for a company that made its name adapting fairytales in a way that nobody else could.

The stakes are greater and technology better, but the same three simple rules apply: never change the deal, no names and never open the package. 
In 2011, the tasteless, filthily crazy, warped workplace comedy Horrible Bosses made a killing at the box office, grossing more than a hundred million dollars in the United States. Thus, by the laws and logic of Hollywood, a sequel was, of course, bound to appear. Reuniting long- suffering pragmatist Nick (Jason Bateman), perennially horny Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and the clueless Dale (Charlie Day), who is now a father of three triplet daughters, Horrible Bosses 2 delivers much of the same stupid — and often perversely enjoyable — comedy, anchored by a cast so good, so game and so in-tune with their on screen personas that many scenes end up being funnier than they probably sounded on paper.
