Here it is, the first trailer for Chris Columbus’ latest film Pixels. When aliens misinterpret footage of video games as an act of war, they send dangerous versions of Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, and other video game characters to attack Earth. Naturally, our only hope is a crew of former arcade game champions.
Adam Sandler stars as Sam Brenner, former gaming champion and childhood friend of the President of the United States (Kevin James). We get to see a bit of Sam and his shoot-em-up team (played by Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage, and Michelle Monaghan). Unfortunately, this trailer doesn’t have us super excited for the movie, although it is fun seeing Pac-Man designer Toru Iwatani come face to giant face with his hungry yellow creation.
We can expect to see ‘Pixels’ in theaters as soon as July 24, 2015.
